Oats Porridge For Babies

Oats Porridge for Babies

Oats are high in fibre and they helps to increase digestion power. It contains high amount of protein and fats than any other whole grain hence it is very useful in baby’s weight gain. Oats have many vitamins and minerals due to which it is a very rich diet for your baby. So, 1 serving of Oats Porridge can keep your baby full for a longer time.

  • ¼ cup Oatmeal Cereal
  • ¾ cup Water or Milk (Breastmilk/cow milk/formula milk)
  • 2 tbsp Honey or Jaggery or any fruit as sweetener


  • In a saucepan, add oatmeal and milk. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • If you are using Jaggery or fruit then add at this point of time and, if you are using honey then add it later.
  • Cook for 5 minutes until it becomes little thick. Switch off the flame and let it cool down.
  • If using honey then add it when serving.


If the porridge consistency becomes too thick then add little water or milk.
If you are using fruit as sweetener then cut the fruits into pieces and add them instead of jaggery while cooking.
For a change in the taste you can make masala oats as well.
